

This tutorial will help you to make a text look like a cliff of mountains.
Create a new document of 800x300.
Change the foreground and background colour to black and white (Press "D").
Then navigate to Filter » Render » Clouds.

Create the text using the type tool. Make the text quite large and place it towards the top.

CTRL+CLICK on the text layer to load the selection. Then move to SELECT » Feather, and enter 3. Now hide the text layer.

Set the foreground colour to white and background to light grey (#7E7E7E).

Create a new layer. Then navigate to Filter » Render » Cloud and then to Layer » Image » Flatten Image ("Discard Hidden Layers" Click OK.).
Navigate to Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CW. Then Filter » Stylize » Wind:

Method: Wind. Direction: From the Right. Press CTRL+F about 7 times to reapply the wind filter. To turn the image back to normal viewing go to Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CCW.

Now Filter » Sharpen » Unsharp Mask. Amount: 500%. Radius: 2. Threshold: 0.
Then Filter » Sharpen » Sharpen. Reapply twice.



Open the colour balance box and play with the colour sliders to get some good colours.
